The trademark protection period is 10 years in Turkey. The trademark registration is extended with renewal for ten years each time.

An application is required to the Institute for trademark renewal to extend the protection period.

Renewal application may be made within 6 months before expiry of the trademark protection period or within 6 months after expiry of the protection period subject to payment of a penalized fee.

Upon completion of the request for renewal, the TPE prepares a trademark renewal certificate.

Registration protection eliminates for any trademarks which are not renewed in this period or which are not renewed duly.

A new trademark application is required for trademarks of which protection period expired due to non-renewal.
